In addition to its antimalarial and immunomodulatory properties, hydroxychloroquine has been investigated for its potential antiviral activity against a variety of viruses, including influenza and HIV. HCQS Laboratory studies have shown that hydroxychloroquine can inhibit viral replication and reduce viral load in infected cells. However, clinical trials are needed to determine whether these findings translate into clinical benefits for patients with viral infections.
